Slide Shows
Once you have "revived" all those
old "treasured photographs",
what do you do with them?
— group them into "slide shows" and share them with your friends and family.
One way to do that is via a
"slide show player" — a simplistic mechanism used to present a sequence of pictures —
analgous to a "viewer" for the pages from your photo albums, only moved into
cyberspace where it's all done without paper.
If you have web access you have probably seen slide shows provided for free on one
of the personalized photo sites such as Flickr,
like this: Nature Best Photo Awards.
Another thing you can do with a slide show is to embed a player into a web
page, primed with a pre-selected set of pictures,
so that they appear to be "right there" in the article.
When you move your mouse inside
the player window, controls appear so that you can navigate the set of pictures in various ways.
To demonstrate this see below
for the set of old photographs, some of which I scanned and reconstructed
from old albums, as my initial steps in creating the
video Story Board
presented
elsewhere in this portfolio.
