It is my pleasure to announce the official opening (soon) of “The Gypsy Café ” — the follow-on to “The Café @ Groton Trading Co.”, represented by this web site through Feb, 2009. In its next reincarnation with a new style and gypsy flair, it will be at 112 Main St., (Paugus Mall, Route 113), Pepperell, Ma. The thumbnail that you see on this posting is the new logo — the harbinger of an exciting new beginning for Keith and Christina Doucette. Further details are available at the new web site: TheGypsyCafe.com (once it officially opens).    Or you can call 978-433-3331 or eMail TheGypsyCafe@gmail.com

Five of us visited the café for lunch on Sunday, 12/28/08. Everyone enjoyed the food, the laid back vibe and the environment. Bench and chair seating around an old wooden table was perfect for our group. There was a nice variety of soups, lunch items and desserts on offer. My crepe included goat cheese and nuts (can’t remember the name) and was delicious. Ten thumbs up!

Lovely spot and so comfortable. It would be more attractive if a leaf of lettuce and/or a few chips were added to sandwiches, rather than just the sandwich on the plate.

My 85 year old Mom is staying with us here in Groton and uses a wheelchair. I’d love to take her to the Café for lunch, but can’t remember if there is a ramp. Any info much appreciated! BTW, we ordered our apple and pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving from the Café and we were very pleased with them! Thanks, Pat

[Response from TheCafé: — Thanks for asking !! At the moment there is not a ramp, but I believe that plans are in the works to do exactly that.]

I have had the best cappucinos at The Cafe. I've also had a custom-made salad, which was large and fresh. The wraps are large, fresh, filling and superb. I always get my money's worth and more!

I spend a lot of time at The Cafe, it's my mobile office as it has free wireless too! Peter Schultz from Groton

It is a unique and heart-warming experience to visit The Café. Every time I've gone there to eat, I've chosen something that I'd never eaten before, and every time I've been amazed at how delicious the food has been and how relaxing and satisfying the time spent there has been. It always leaves me looking forward to my next opportunity to show up there and be surprised and satisfied again.

When my family asked me to come up with something special for the dessert part of our Christmas dinner this year, I knew exactly where to go — The Cafe. We had already gotten several of their "special pies" order at Thanksgiving, and I knew that whatever I got for Christmas would also be delicious. So we got one of these Yule Logs that you see pictured here. I can still taste the sweet creamy cake that my kids were fighting over for the last piece.

Stay tuned to the web site for the next time they have another one of their "order ahead" special offers.

When you visit The Café page called “Feedback ” (also called “Join the eMail List ”), one of the things you can do is to enter arbitrary text into the field labeled “Do you have feedback or Comments ? ”. Some of that feedback makes it onto this page where we refer to it as "Testimonials" via a process described below.

Since not all people who do this want to have their feedback made public, the first thing you have to do in order to submit a Testimonial is to check the box labeled :
  • Feedback may appear on The Café Community (Customer Testimonials) page ”.

  • Once you have done that, the web site moderator then reviews the text for appropriateness, and will contact you to see if you would like to submit an optional picture that would appear along with your story on this page. Once this has been determined and configured, the moderator "releases" the Testimonial for automagic inclusion on this page. To highlight the most relevant stories, they are presented in reverse chronological order.

Please note that it is our policy that owners of these Testimonials are free to request changes to their text, or to ask that the text be removed from this page, at any time. See the “Contact Us ” page for details.
